On the 21 July 2008 the Minister for the East, Barbara Follett, opened the newly expanded Learning Centre at Perkins Engines.

This high-tech training facility, at Perkins’ Peterborough Headquarters, is also able to benefit local businesses, educational establishments and other organisations to help increase the productivity of more of the region's businesses.

The Learning Centre upgraded its learning resources thanks to a £825,000 grant from the East of England Development Agency and now features:

Conference Centre that includes a 115 seated Auditorium with disabled access and 2 further rooms that can be used for smaller events, meetings or as break-out/lunch areas. The venue is wheelchair friendly, air-conditioned, has professional stage lighting and a control room to ensure seamless presentation management. It also benefits from a dedicated entrance and reception area and use of our on-site Event Coordinator.

8 Classrooms that are air conditioned, furnished to a high standard, and have SMART boards, projectors, PC's and DVD players. Our rooms or classrooms are designed to suit most needs and can accommodate from 4 people to 30 people.

We can also offer a range of catering menus to suit our clients' needs. Free on-site parking is also available.

Lean Manufacturing Simulated Working Environment  (a mini automated production line) in which we train lean manufacturing techniques. Some of the benefits the participants gain include, removing waste from any process, reducing safety incidents, reducing costs and improving productivity. This is a great team building experience, which also strengthens communication and team collaboration. This would be beneficial to any business wishing to create a much leaner way of working, whether it be manufacturing or office based processes.

 Fork Lift Training

We offer high quality, safety focused forklift truck training at competitive prices, delivered by experienced ITSSAR registered instructors (Independent Training Standards Scheme & Register, HSE accredited) at our purpose built training centre. Free parking and refreshments are available. Lunch can be provided if required. Training can be tailored to your needs and delivered at your own premises if required.
